Worship+Music

The magnificent God of the universe is worthy of our praise! The One has called us out of darkness into light. He has set our souls afire and given us a song to sing. Biblical worship is not just an event that takes place only on Sunday morning. It is a commitment of God’s people to focus their every effort on glorifying Him. In 1 Peter 2:9-10, Peter expresses perfectly why we worship. The merciful God called us out and claimed us as His own. He showed us mercy when we deserved none. For that reason, I will bless the Lord at all times and His praise will always be what I whisper, talk, shout, sing, rap – will always be in my mouth (Psalm 34:1).
But how should we worship God on Sunday? Well, I’m pretty sure God does not have a Heavenly iPod with one singular genre dominating the playlist. Instead, passages like the one below reveal that God enjoys a plethora of styles and instrumentations. The psalmist makes no mention of style or preference. There is an obvious overwhelming joy when his thoughts are directed toward the Lord. So much so that he begins naming many instruments all to be used to loudly and boldly worship the great and mighty God.
At Bethabra, we desire to be biblical above all other descriptions when it comes to worship through song. If you desire to use your voice for the exaltation of the one true God, then visit us this Sunday and speak to one of our pastors.
3 Praise Him with trumpet blast;
praise Him with harp and lyre.
4 Praise Him with tambourine and dance;
praise Him with flute and strings.
5 Praise Him with resounding cymbals;
praise Him with clashing cymbals.
6 Let everything that breathes praise the LORD.
Hallelujah!
- Psalm 150:3-6 (HCSB)
