Missions

The Great Commission gives us clear direction regarding the ministry of the Church. By His grace we have been saved. By His grace we have been changed. By His grace we have been given the opportunity to teach others about the magnificent love of God. Without Jesus Christ we were hopeless and in desperate need of rescue. The holy, righteous, and transcendent God came to us through His perfect Son. He moved toward us and invited us into the refuge of His loving grace. The world needs to hear our story. At Bethabra, we want to see lives changed! We are committed to joining Christ as He seeks and saves the lost. We live to invite others into His refuge.

We accomplish this mission by living out the truths in both The Great Commission:

19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

and The Great Commandment:

37 He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.
38 This is the greatest and most important [a] commandment.
39 The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. 40 All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.” - Matthew 22:37-40

Based on these two passages, our mission suddenly becomes very practical. Love God with everything we have. Love everyone we have the opportunity to meet. Tell everyone we meet about the Love that makes us love the ones we meet. Clear, right? Opportunities exist locally to be involved in God’s life-changing process through communication and demonstration of the Gospel. We are actively praying about the development of opportunities to impact lives both nationally and internationally.

Where would you like to begin? Join us and together we will certainly impact our world for Christ.

Benevolence & Local Missions Ministry

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. - 2 Corinthians 1:3

In these extremely challenging economic times, it has become increasingly more difficult for many of us to remain self sufficient. The stress that hard times impose on families has become apparent, and the church has repeatedly been commanded in Scripture to be mindful of those who are in need. 2 Corinthians 1:3 is a passage that reminds us that true comfort in difficult times comes only from the One True God. Bethabra Baptist Church has begun to develop relationships in our community and form partnerships with other ministries to effectively provide comfort and help to those in need. We are the hands and feet of Jesus! We have received His comfort and therefore are committed to sharing it.

Locally we are involved in providing assistance through Disaster Relief, Women and Children’s Shelters, and caring for the homeless.

If you are in need of assistance, please email us using the contact page on this website or call the church office @ 770-867-3755
